It's been an extremely long time since I have made anything purely because I wanted to, I fell out of love with making images and got myself into a total funk. I've been listening to Melody's Echo Chamber a lot and think that Melody Prochet has a lovely face to draw from. Below is my ode to her, I used dip pen which I've not really tried before but I'm trying to be more open and experiment more. I really enjoyed it and it made me incredibly happy (sad I know). I also found that leaving out detailing in the hair and being selective about the information I include made it a stronger piece. Something that Laura Carlin does a lot of, I decided to be brave and I think it worked.

What is Illustration for?
Object - This is my favourite album cover, not only is it beautiful but when you listen to the record the style and tone of voice fits so well to the dreamy shoegaze sound, bloody lovely!
Book - This book is a beautiful piece of writing as it is, the fact that Catrin Morgan illustrated each page makes it even better. Each illustration is a diagram or illustration of what is being written about.
Another object, book, anthology, collection?
Solipsistic Pop is a regular anthology of different contributors. I managed to get my hands on Number 4, the theme of which was Maps, it included a huge poster and beautiful postcards as well as an 80 page book. The postcards were my favourite, ranging from glow in the dark and one seeded one, that grows when you plant it, amazing.
